Lebanese Shia leader Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah says closer Iran-Egypt ties will contribute to resolving issues in the Middle East.
Establishment of deeper relations between Iran and Egypt would create a security umbrella as well as pave the way to settle problems facing the region, Ayatollah Fadlallah said on Sunday.Fadlallah added that both countries would benefit from bilateral relations as the U.S. and the Zionist regime are making efforts to undermine Egypt and isolate Iran in the Islamic world.
The cleric stressed that stronger relations between Iran and Arab countries would help the Islamic world unite against religious divisions created by arrogant powers.
""We demand further expansion of mutual cooperation between Tehran and Cairo, which would help protect Muslim countries against major threats,"" Fadlallah said.
